7 England Youngsters Who Could Shine at EURO 2016

All stats have been taken from the 2015/16 Premier League season.

Ross Barkley

Barkley had a good season with an underachieving Everton team, but with Roberto Martinez losing his job after the teams average results, the midfielder will be keen to impress the new manager on Europe’s biggest stage.

Eric Dier

The 22 year old was courted to play for Portugal during his time in  the youth ranks at Sporting CP. Following his move to Tottenham in 2014, the defensive player has the temperament and talent combined with the versatility of being able to play multiple defensive positions to be a key man for England.

John Stones

It is possible Chelsea transfer requests unsettled the youngster at the start of the season, but despite some problems surrounding concentration, the centre back has shown his direct nature and ball playing ability could provide the difference in England’s closest games. With Jose Mourinho no longer at Chelsea, his performance at EURO 2016 could be the deciding factor in where he will be playing next season.

Marcus Rashford

At 55%, the youngster has the best shot conversion out of all five strikers that have been taken to EURO 2016. He also became the youngest ever England striker to score on an England debut, when he netted inside three minutes against Australia, showing he can keep his head when all eyes are on him.

Raheem Sterling

Despite not having the best season with Manchester City, with World Cup playing experience under his belt and a need to impress a new manager, his could blossom if his blistering pace is utilised by Roy Hodgson.

Harry Kane

The Premier League golden boot winner is among only six players to score more than twenty goals in successive seasons and has shown with an assured performance against Germany, that he has the ability to take chances in the biggest games.

Dele Alli

While his fiery temper saw him  banned at the end of the Premier League season, his ten goals and nine assists combined with an excellent partnership with Harry Kane, has the potential to ensure his England place for years to come; providing he can keep his cool.
